Adult Literacy offers free, confidential tutoring to English-speaking adults (16 years or older) to improve their reading, writing, math, or basic computer skills. Adults request literacy services from many different walks of life. We work with the roles and goals of the adult in tailoring a program that will assist them in their life experiences:  The programs include One-on-one tutoring with a matched tutor; Small learning communities; Specialized workshops; and, Book discussion groups 1-2 times a week.

Families for Literacy offers the following:  Educational materials and resources for parents; A tour of the library and an opportunity to get a library card; Guest speakers and workshops; Early literacy outreach for children at risk for low levels of literacy; Book give-aways at schools and community events; School district and resource information for parents; Early literacy services for parents enrolled in certain literacy courses; and, Early Literacy Lab and Kindergarten-Readiness Lab.

Outreach Services provides many wonderful services at our Library sites, but through our Outreach programs, we are also out in the community.  Outreach staff drives our Bookmobile, provide in-services and trainings to organizations and social service agencies, assist in recruiting new Literacy volunteers and adult learners, staff booths at resource fairs, provide storytelling programs, and respond to many requests from the community.
